Team & Role;  

As a Senior Sales Trader – Compliance Carbon, you will work to deepen relationships with compliance entities in the various North American emissions trading systems. You will engage with market participants to understand the evolving needs of companies with obligations in these programs to create trade structures that optimize their purchasing strategies and management of their portfolio of compliance instruments. It’s important that you have a strong understanding of the emissions trading systems and the underlying industries where the emissions derive from.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as a market interface and client relationship manager with compliance carbon market counterparties, with focus on building deal flow and relationships with North American compliance carbon entities.  
  • Be an expert in the various North American emissions trading systems and their regulatory requirements to help clients meet their program obligations and optimize their portfolio of compliance instruments 
  • Generate counterparty leads and develop sales channels that contribute to the growth of carbon trading volumes 
  • Negotiate commercial terms and execute trades to buy and sell compliance carbon offsets and allowances in support of business needs 
  • Monitor and provide reports on policies, fundamentals, market activity, and news impacting compliance markets

Key Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or sector related fields  
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in emissions trading systems, and/or oil, natural gas, and power 
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to systematically accomplish goals.  
  • Can deeply understand clients’ compliance needs and challenges and apply creative and logical approach to identify and tailor solutions from our product portfolio 
  • Display outstanding interpersonal skills, excelling in collaborative efforts within dynamic team environments, while skillfully cultivating direct working relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

 

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary within the range of $120,000-$180,000 based on a number of objective factors such as relevant experience, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
