TEAM AND ROLE
Policy is a major driver of environmental markets and having a detailed understanding of the complex and unharmonized policy landscape provides a crucial trading edge. We incorporate policy insights directly into our trading strategies. This is a commercially exposed role with P/L generating impact and business development of the company. This role is to take ownership of the biomethane policy development in the EU for the company. There will be ongoing, close support from the rest of the policy team covering different geographical areas and products. You will work closely with research and analytics team and with business development to provide insights from biomethane policy development in the EU.

Key Responsibilities
- As a part of the central policy team of STX group, work in close cooperation with the company’s renewable gas and biofuels teams, particularly with trading and policy analysts;
- Monitor EU regulatory and other policy intelligence mostly at EU but also global and national level relevant for biomethane and biofuels trading; brief the renewable gas and biofuels team;
- Assess likelihoods of policy changes with impact on trading positions:
- Lead position papers drafting and other policy material in consultation with the policy team and the renewable gas and biofuels teams;
- Represent STX Group in dialogues with the EU institutions, industry coalitions and other stakeholders related to the designated policy areas;

Key Requirements
- At least 5 years’ work experience in the field of EU biofuels or biomethane policy, ideally in Brussels; energy trading experience a plus;
- Strong network of EU policy-makers and European industry stakeholders;
- Master’s degree in relevant field
- Proactive and accountable style of working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex topics and to translate political languages into commercial insights;
- Strong command of English, any other European language a especially French is a plus;
