ABOUT THE FRONT OFFICE
Turning opportunities into solutions – that’s the specialty of STX’s Front Office. Our team works across various domains, including electricity, renewable gas, carbon offsets, biofuels and energy efficiency. We engage with clients in different markets and countries on a daily basis, and it’s our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. To maintain STX’s position as market leader in the fast-changing environmental commodities field, we are continuously capitalizing on new opportunities and optimizing our offering.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Renewable Gas Desk has a clear mission: to help customers that are experiencing difficulties when it comes to achieving their environmental targets. We help them transition from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives. Within the Renewable Gas desk, you’ll be part of the Portfolio Management team, which takes care of the overall feasibility and optimization of the Renewable Gas book. The role is an entry-level position into the team, providing a good starting point to understand our product and trading activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Match portfolio to suitable buyers, allocate incoming volumes appropriately
- Identify optimization opportunities and communicate potential actions
- Monitor key portfolio indicators like positions, capital costs, and delivery opportunities
- Track overall portfolio performance, validate exposures
- Develop and maintain tools for portfolio optimization, identify new business opportunities
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 0-2 years’ experience in junior trading or supporting role in a trading company
- Academic degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Proficiency in Excel (and/or VBA) and Python is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and proactive attitude
- Familiarity with essential trading concepts and keen interest in financial and (environmental) commodities markets
