Team & Role;  
The operations function forms the backbone of any company. At STX, the Operations team, which comprises IT, Finance, Human Resources, and Middle Office, works closely with all other teams and desks to ensure that STX continues to perform and deliver at an exceptionally high level. As a critical partner in the business, Operations also guarantees compliance with all the relevant rules and regulations. Moreover, the Operations team works collaboratively to make sure that STX has the necessary structures and processes in place to grow and develop further in new products, industries, and markets.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure accurate and timely VAT compliance by preparing and submitting international VAT statements in line with local regulations.
• Provide operational VAT advice to internal departments on legal contracts, agreements, and VAT rule applications across business functions.
• Oversee VAT audits conducted by tax authorities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance throughout the process.
• Develop and implement VAT policies while maintaining up-to-date tax practices and delivering relevant training to business stakeholders.
• Participate in VAT-related projects and support international operations on VAT issues impacting business functions and controls. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in Fiscal Economics, with at least 4 years of experience in VAT reporting and compliance; experience in commodity trading is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of European VAT legislation, with a focus on Dutch VAT laws and regulations.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
• Critical thinking and problem analysis skills, with a passion for achieving results and driving business impact.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to connect with stakeholders and deliver convincing, service-oriented advice.
