TEAM AND ROLE: 

 The role of the Climate Action Consultant at STRIVE, the Climate Action arm of STX Group, is to ensure the delivery of high-quality consultancy advice to international clients on sustainability-related topics in different sectors. Our Climate Action team has a bias for action; STX has deep expertise in environmental commodity markets, and we understand how these products can serve as solutions. This empowers our Climate Action arm to offer actionable advice and deliver tangible climate impact outcomes. You will contribute to the development of new services and client portfolios in our core sectors. Your impact will shape our clients’ climate action goals, leaving a lasting mark on their journey toward sustainability excellence.

Key Responsibilities

 

  •  Provide strategic advice to our clients on sustainability and related topics, ensuring the successful delivery of our services that align with our clients’ environmental objectives. Topics may include: GHG reduction targets, decarbonization roadmap, supplier engagement programs, Marginal Abatement Cost Curve 
  • Utilize your (technical) expertise to advise clients and implement viable solutions through quantitative and qualitative analysis, offering clear recommendations 
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, while also contributing to the commercial development of new projects 
  • Build and manage client relationships to ensure successful project delivery and drive long-term partnerships 
  • Develop and implement sustainability advisory services to support the growth of our high-potential business across global hubs 
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability to offer clients up to date recommendations 

What does a rewarding career mean to you?

Key Requirements

 

  •  25 years of experience in sustainability consulting or broader sustainability roles within hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, chemicals 
  • Experience in defining sustainability strategies, setting emissions reduction targets, and/or developing decarbonization roadmaps and relevant analyses (e.g., Marginal Abatement Cost Curves), including an understanding of decarbonization levers, challenges, and opportunities within hard-to-abate sectors 
  • Familiarity with GHG footprint calculations, GHG accounting frameworks (e.g., ISO 14064), reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRD) and/or regulatory policies (e.g., CBAM), or an interest in developing this knowledge 
  • Master’s degree ideally in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Economics, Finance or related disciplines 
  • Excellent English communication skills, and living in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam
