• Providing full support to the development and execution of the trading strategy

The treasury analyst’s main responsibility is to run liquidity, FX analysis, and related activities. ROLE OF A TRADER

As a Trader at STX, you’ll focus on translating complex data and information into concrete trading opportunities. More specifically, you’ll be tasked with aggregating data and turning it into simple and practical solutions that benefit prospective clients. In the ever-evolving environmental commodities market, trading is a highly challenging job – one that requires outstanding analytical skills and the ability to work well under pressure. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting the traders in optimizing the trade flow
• Supporting traders in structuring the trading books
• Working as a backup and support to the traders
• Managing Trade and Contract risk in line with broader strategy
• Pricing of Carbon products.
• Doing research and analyzing statistics
• Optimization of the delivery book
• Using your analytical skills to make creative commercial propositions to the traders

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of experience in a trading company as a trader or assistant trader
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business (preferably in finance, economics, maths)
• Highly skilled in using Excel and VBA. Python and SQL are a big plus
• Strong analytical skills with a commercial drive and proactive attitude
• Strong interest in trading and financial and environmental commodities markets
• Living in (the area of) Amsterdam or willing to relocate
• Fluent in English and preferably another European language

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborating closely with regional sales traders and other analysts to stay up to date with policies
• Understanding the possible risks and opportunities in each policy change
• Maintaining expert-level knowledge of future events and policy changes that could drive price changes and assist traders
• Forecasting price movements across the renewable energy markets and develop new trading ideas
• Leveraging your fundamental research experience to identify and provide insights
• Search, identify and analyze the catalysts in renewable energy market
• Utilize existing data and search new data to support and draw conclusions
• Build fundamental knowledge base for STX

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of experience in a research/analyst role
• Expertise in the energy sector including natural gas, power market or utilities is advantageous
• Master’s or PhD degree 
• Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of VBA and SQL is advantageous
• Programming language expertise i.e. Python is beneficial but not essential
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills with a pro-active, precise mind, and a problem solving nature
• Ability to communicate clearly, think independently and work collaboratively
