AMSTERDAM (November 18, 2025) — STX Group, a leading environmental commodities trading firm, today announces the renewal of its borrowing base facility. The facility has been renewed up-to EUR 290 million and enables the group to finance its environmental products portfolio, including renewable energy certificates, energy efficiency certificates, biofuels, biomethane and renewable gas as well as its receivables and other current assets.
The refinancing of the facility has been secured through the collaborative efforts of a syndicate of five major banks: Deutsche Bank, KBC Bank, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Rabobank and Société Générale.
The facility forms the cornerstone of STX Group’s financing framework, totaling over EUR 420 million in overall financing capacity. This includes a recently renewed bilateral credit facility by ING for the STX Group biofuels operations in its subsidiary Marine Olie Handelsmij.
The continued support in financing capacity underlines STX Group’s growing role in the energy transition and underscores the deepening trust and endorsement of environmental commodities markets by major international banks.
“The closing of this unique facility is an important milestone in our journey. Through this funding we can continue the positive momentum from the first half of our financial year, in which we saw increased market activity, favorable trading conditions and generated record results,” said Marijn van Diessen, Chief Executive Officer at STX Group.
“We highly value the continued trust and support from our banking pool. Collaboratively diversifying our borrowing capabilities is a critical success factor to our position as a pioneer in the fast-growing environmental commodities markets and ultimately a key driver for the energy transition itself,” continued Bart Wesselink, Chief Financial and Risk Officer at STX Group.
The STX Group credit facility, launched in April 2023, was the first time the banking system appreciated the full value of the wide range of environmental commodities as security.
