STX’s Traineeship is a 14-month rotational program designed to fast-track your career and immerse you in the exciting and dynamic world of environmental commodities. You’ll work in four different teams, starting in one of our operations teams before diving into three front-office rotations. During these rotations, you’ll take on various projects and tasks. 

This can include gaining commercial experience through activities like cold-calling, business development, and corporate account management. And/or building your analytical skills with tasks such as trade analysis, research, and creating dashboards. This hands-on experience gives you a 360° view of the industry, helping you discover what excites you most.

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Graduated before September 1, 2026, with a Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Economics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Environmental Studies, or a commercially related field, including dual master’s program. 
  • Fluent English is required – additional languages are a plus (Dutch not required).
  • A strong interest and passion for the commercial and analytical side of environmental commodity trading, and everything involved in it.
  • Proficiency in analytical skills, including Python and/or Excel.
  • An entrepreneurial and commercially oriented mindset with a proactive and self-starting attitude.
  • Maximum of 1 year of relevant full-time work experience, either between your Bachelor and Master or after completing your Master’s degree.
  • Available to work 4 days in the office and 1 day from home (40 hours per week). During the first 6 weeks, being in the office 5 days a week for full onboarding is required.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS AND TIMELINES

Our recruitment process consists of four rounds:

Round 1 – CV, Motivation and Assessment
You will hear back from us by the end of March
Tip: please make your motivation as authentic as possible, we want to hear from you and not AI!

Round 2 – Recruiter Interview
30-minute interview with one of our recruiters in the first weeks of April.

Round 3 – Business Interview
1-hour interview with two colleagues from the business at the end of April.

Round 4 – Business Case
1-hour Business Case with senior leadership in the beginning of May.
