ABOUT THE TEAM

We engage with clients in different markets and countries on a daily basis, and it’s our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. To maintain STX’s position as market leader in the fast-changing environmental commodities field, we are continuously capitalizing on new opportunities and optimizing our offering.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Sales Trader – Energy Attribute Certificates (LATAM Market) to join our rapidly growing Renewable Energy & Environmental Commodities business in Mexico City.

As a senior member of the trading team, you will play a key role in expanding STX’s footprint across LATAM renewable energy certificate (EAC/REC) markets, developing client relationships, executing structured transactions, and driving commercial growth in both voluntary and compliance markets. You will work in a highly dynamic, international trading environment, collaborating closely with Sales, Trading, Research & Analysis, and Origination teams globally.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, manage, and expand long-term client relationships across LATAM to grow purchase and sales volumes.
  • Identify, structure, and execute innovative commercial and trading solutions tailored to client needs. Execute Renewable Energy Certificate (EAC/REC) transactions in local and international markets.
  • Analyze renewable energy and EAC market dynamics, including supply-demand drivers and regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to risk management and portfolio optimization within defined trading mandates. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify new business opportunities and optimize trading strategies
  • Support market development initiatives and represent STX in LATAM renewable energy markets.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or sector related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in trading or sales trading of Renewable Energy Certificates, EACs, or related environmental commodities.
    Deep understanding of renewable energy markets, regulatory drivers, and commercial deal structures.
  • Strong existing network and client relationships within LATAM and/or international REC/EAC markets.
  • Proven commercial acumen with an entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and price signals.
  • Excellent English proficiency; Spanish required (Portuguese a plus). Currently based in or willing to relocate to Mexico City
