We engage with clients in different markets and countries on a daily basis, and it’s our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. To maintain STX’s position as market leader in the fast-changing environmental commodities field, we are continuously capitalizing on new opportunities and optimizing our offering. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are looking for a Sales Portfolio Manager – Environmental Commodities (Australia Market) to join our rapidly growing Renewable Energy & Environmental Commodities business. 

As a member of the sales trading team, you will play a key role in expanding STX’s footprint across Australia’s Environmental Commodities markets, developing client relationships, executing structured transactions, and driving commercial growth in both voluntary and compliance markets. You will work in a highly dynamic, international trading environment, collaborating closely with Sales, Trading, Research & Analysis, and Origination teams globally. 

Being a Sales Trader, you play an important role in driving the business forward. In this highly competitive market, you’ll constantly engage with prospective clients to fully grasp their needs and apply strategic thinking to tailor-make solutions that cater to these requirements. This role entails exposure to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. By working strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions, you genuinely help them move forward towards a greener future.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Developing sourcing and trading strategies for the Australian renewable energy markets. 
  • Be the lead in driving our Corporate Environmental Demand Products demand activities  
  • Expanding our existing customer portfolio by identifying and following up on new leads. 
  • Identify, structure, and execute innovative commercial and trading solutions tailored to client needs. Execute transactions in various Australian Environmental Commodities Products. 
  • Analyzing data and conducting research on the Australian environmental commodities market (supply-demand drivers, regulatory frameworks, …) 
  • Support market development initiatives and represent STX in Australia’s renewable energy markets. 
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and main point of contact to new and existing clients 
  • Building strong relationships with key counterparties 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • +5 years of working experience within a sales, trading, business development or account management role in Australia / Singapore 
  • Exposure to the Australian Energy Markets including exposure to utilities, renewables, carbon and (or) energy efficiency 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) 
  • Fluent in English  
  • Essential commercial and entrepreneurial attitude 
  • Analytical and strategic thinking 
  • Attentive and empathetic approach 
  • Collaborative work style
