Policy tracking and Data Collection

• Track legislative status at EU and Member State level to contribute to modelling inputs, with a focus on: 

1. Renewable Energy Directive II/III (transposition into law at MS level) 
2. Renewable transport fuel obligation (RTFO – UK) 
3. Treibhausgasminderungsquoten (THG-Quoten – DE) 
4. Hernieuwbare brandstofeenhedenr (HBE/ERE – NL) 
5. National Renewable Natural Gas blending mandates  
6. Biofuel & biogas certification schemes 
7. Fuel EU Maritime 
8. ReFuel EU Aviation 
9. ETS I & II 

• Gathering policy intel through market-facing channels (Square, Platts, Argus, Policy Library) and leading the build-out of our Policy & Market Data Library 

• Working closely with the central policy team to digest policy intel and make it “desk-ready”  

Trading Strategy:

• Provide answers to traders’ questions on the key legislation around the EU and the UK in collaboration with the Central Policy team 

• Assist market/trading analysts on the build-out of S&Ds and price forecast models 

• Coordinate with regulatory affairs, market analysts, trade analysts, traders, and sustainability to align market views 

• Provide tradeable views based on your policy insights, enabling P&L generation from directional positions taken by the biofuels and RNG books.  

 

Desirable: 

• Working knowledge of Dutch, German, or French (a plus) (more European languages are welcome) 

• Experience with biofuels, biomethane, RFNBOs, transport policy, or GHG accounting frameworks 

• Familiarity with the RED II&III frameworks, fuel certification schemes (ISCC), or emissions trading (ETS)
