TEAM AND ROLE:
The Decarbonization Strategy Manager at STX Group is responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy on sustainability and decarbonization to support our international clients in accelerating their climate goals. STX’s Decarbonization Strategy Team offers a comprehensive suite of services, including Scope 1 and 2 decarbonization roadmaps, renewable energy procurement strategies, and PPA execution advisory.
In addition, you will drive the development of new services within our core sectors and contribute to the growth of our consultancy team. Your work will have a tangible impact, shaping clients’ decarbonization strategies and enabling them to achieve their sustainability ambitions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, build and coach a high-performing Decarbonization Advisory team, accountable for STX’s corporate consulting services
- Provide strategic advice to our clients on decarbonization and related topics, ensuring the successful delivery of our services. Topics may include: decarbonization strategy and roadmap, renewable electricity procurement strategy, PPA execution strategy, and supplier engagement
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from initiation and planning through execution, while contributing to the commercial development of new opportunities
- Build and nurture client relationships to ensure successful project delivery and foster long-term partnerships
- Develop and scale decarbonization advisory services to drive growth of our high-potential business
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 4-8 years of experience in (sustainability) strategy consulting or broader sustainability roles, preferably within sectors such as manufacturing, cement, steel and chemicals
- Proven ability to define decarbonization strategies and set emissions reduction targets, with a strong understanding of corporate decarbonization levers, challenges, and opportunities. Familiarity or strong interest in renewable energy, Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs), or energy efficiency
- Analytical and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable solutions. Able to drive the commercial development and execution of new advisory services and continuously enhance offerings
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, capable of motivating and leading teams, demonstrated through prior leadership experience
- Master’s or (or equivalent) ideally in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Economics, Finance or related disciplines
- Excellent English communication skills, and living in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam
