ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

Our U.S. Renewable Energy Tax team is one of STX’s fastest-growing desks, connecting renewable energy developers with corporate and institutional tax credit buyers. Having closed significant amounts in tax credit transactions to date, we bring unmatched insight into pricing, regulatory changes, opportunity sourcing , and deal structuring. We speak developer. We speak investor. We know what it takes to get these deals done—and we’re just getting started.

This is a high-impact business development role, focused on scaling STX’s tax credit platform. You’ll source new business, build relationships with both buyers and developers, and help drive transactions from origination through close.

Ideal candidates bring strong sales DNA, financial acumen, experience in renewable energy & financial markets, and the hunger to build one of STX’s fastest-growing desks.

As the Renewable Energy Tax desk works together with other product desks, you’ll automatically gain exposure to STX’s other environmental market capabilities— like renewable energy credits (RECs) and renewable natural gas (RNG) and learn how to position these solutions to clients.

The Future is Ours to Build

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and develop new business within the renewable energy transferable tax credit space
  • Build and maintain relationships with Fortune 1000 companies, banks, hedge funds, private equity, and institutional investors through a mix of cold outreach and existing client engagement
  • Source high-quality tax credit supply by proactively engaging renewable energy developers and infrastructure funds
  • Attend conferences and host virtual and in-person client workshops
  • Provide clients with market intelligence, pricing guidance, and strategic insights/recommendations
  • Lead deal execution and negotiations, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders including Legal and other product desks
  • Support client onboarding and ensure seamless client engagement throughout the lifecycle
  • Assist the team by creating pre- & post-meeting materials
  • Drive revenue growth and uncover new opportunities through thoughtful product positioning and market analysis

Key Requirements

  • 0-3 years experience in sales / business development role
  • Affinity with renewable energy, financial markets, or tax equity transactions and trading environments
  • Proven track record of closing transactions
  • Strong analytical and market research skills
  • Experience in utilizing CRM, email sequences, other sales enablement software’s (Zoominfo, LinkedIn, etc) and minimum coding skills for making your own life easier
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Finance, Business, Tax backgrounds would suit well
