GreenYellow and STX Group partner to unlock greater energy efficiency investments value

– September 7, 2026

Warsaw/Amsterdam, September 7, 2026 – GreenYellow, an international provider of decentralised energy solutions for businesses, and STX Group, a leading environmental commodities firm, today announce a new partnership. The partnership aims to enable companies implementing energy efficiency projects to gain easier access to the white certificate scheme in Poland, Spain and Italy. By combining the strengths of both partners, companies will receive support throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Rising energy costs, evolving regulatory requirements and decarbonisation targets are driving companies to increasingly invest in solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption. However, many businesses are still not taking advantage of available support mechanisms that enable the financial viability of such projects. As a result, solutions combining energy efficiency investments with additional mechanisms that enhance their economic value are becoming increasingly important.

In the partnership, GreenYellow is responsible for the comprehensive delivery of energy efficiency projects, from identifying savings potential and designing solutions to arranging financing and implementing measures at customer sites. STX identifies and purchases the savings that these projects generate, allowing companies to monetize the environmental value that their projects generate and facilitating an investment decision which includes this value within the project economics. STX manages the process with the regulatory bodies, allowing the issuance of white certificates which are awarded after the project delivery is verified and results in lasting reductions in energy consumption.

“White certificates provide widely accessible and attractive support for businesses investing in energy efficiency. Fully leveraging this mechanism, however, requires a combination of technical and regulatory expertise, along with practical knowledge of the certificate application process. The partnership between STX Group and GreenYellow offers clients this comprehensive approach, helping them reduce energy consumption, improve project economics and move more efficiently from analysis to project implementation,” says Wojciech Domagała, Head of Energy Efficiency Poland at STX Group.

White certificates can be awarded for projects that improve energy efficiency, such as the modernisation of heating systems, optimisation of cooling and ventilation systems, comprehensive building thermal upgrades and lighting modernisation. Each of these areas can contribute to reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency.

“The energy transition of businesses requires not only the right technologies but also models that improve investment profitability and reduce barriers to implementation. By incorporating white certificates into our offering, we are creating a comprehensive solution that combines project design, financing and implementation with the opportunity to generate additional revenues resulting from achieved energy savings,” says Piotr Kolasiński, sales director at GreenYellow Poland.

The partnership is aligned with GreenYellow’s development of the ESCO (Energy Service Company) model, which enables companies to implement energy efficiency projects without committing their own capital. Through the complementary offering of both companies, customers gain access to an end-to-end approach, from project concept development to the monetization of achieved energy savings.

Integrating white certificates into the investment process increases project attractiveness and reduces risks associated with investment decisions. Energy savings verified by the regulator represent a measurable financial value, supporting companies in achieving both business objectives and decarbonisation goals. The cooperation between GreenYellow and STX sets a new direction for energy efficiency projects in Poland by combining technological solutions, financing models and regulatory mechanisms. It enables companies to strengthen their energy independence, competitiveness and progress towards their energy transition goals.
