The introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in the European Union (EU) will have a significant impact on businesses importing goods into the EU. The CBAM will be on the agenda for the EU Parliament’s April 2023 plenary session when the final vote will take place. The CBAM is expected to take effect in October 2023, in transitional form, and be fully operational in January 2026.
