ROLE OF AN ORIGINATOR

As an Attribute Originator you will work directly with generators and project developers in Latin America. You will be responsible for helping your clients generate new revenue streams and optimize existing ones; continually explore new opportunities within the energy attribute or carbon offset markets; act as the main contact and source of knowledge for new and existing clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and build a pipeline of projects to bring to market
  • Understand all technical aspects of accreditation process for the different tracking systems available in the region
  • Proactive commercial development of market potential, working with both new and existing customers
  • Contribute to developing STX position and visibility in the region
  • Map and develop relationships with partners and counterparties
  • Optimize market connectivity between the trading and origination team

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Business fluent in Spanish and fluent in English required. Fluency in Portuguese not required but preferred.
  • At least 3+ years of relevant carbon offset or REC (Renewable Energy Credits) market experience
  • Relevant experience and understanding of registry requirements, project methodologies, international governance frameworks
  • Proven track record within project accreditation process
  • Strong understanding of market fundamentals and developments
  • Existing network within the carbon offset or REC market
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills are required
  • Working rights in the United States

On the environmental commodities side, we intermediate and trade a wide variety of different renewable energy certificates and physical renewables, such as biofuels and biodiesel. Over the years, we have expanded to trade in a diverse range of new products and have moved into numerous new markets. Such developments account for the rapid growth the company has enjoyed since its inception.
