ABOUT THE FRONT OFFICE

Turning opportunities into solutions – that’s the specialty of STX’s Front Office. Our team works across various domains, including electricity, renewable gas, carbon offsets, biofuels, and energy efficiency. We engage with clients in different markets and countries on a daily basis, and it’s our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. ROLE OF A JUNIOR SALES / TRADER

In this role, you will engage with prospective clients to fully understand their needs and apply your strategic thinking skills to tailor solutions that cater to these requirements. You will also be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies with your team, while managing a profitable trading book.

This position offers exposure to a diverse range of professionals at all levels, as well as to companies from various industries and markets. Your commercial skills will be challenged as you work strategically to offer clients sustainable solutions and negotiate favorable conditions. Your analytical mindset and strategic thinking will allow you to run a book in a disciplined manner, even in times of market turmoil.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building your own customer portfolio
  • Serve the existing customer portfolio in a professional manner
  • Negotiating deals with new and existing clients
  • Doing the required research and analysis in a new market
  • Dive into key market developments
  • Becoming the main information source for counterparties you trade with
  • PnL responsibility for the Benelux trading book
  • increasing profit by optimizing long and short deliveries
  • Developing and executing trading strategies with analysts and other colleagues
  • Managing trade, counterparty, and contract risk in line with a broader strategy

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Commercial experience is a plus
  • Affinity with finance and commodities
  • Able to work independently and result-driven
  • Not afraid to cold call and approach people pro-actively
  • International experience during studies and/or career is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Risk management expertise
  • Discipline, adaptability, and mental toughness
  • Fluent Dutch and English speaker at a business level
  • Energetic, curious, and ambitious
